Nagios is an Open Source based application software that is mainly used for Windows OS Monitoring, Linux OS Monitoring, Application Monitoring, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) Monitoring, Server Monitoring, Log Monitoring, and so on. Nagios System and Network Monitoring and Training is designed for IT professionals who usually work with Open Source based Operating System and/or Application Software.


Officially, there is no prerequisite for this course, Hence,  it is recommended for the candidates of this Nagios System and Network Monitoring and Training is to have at least one year or more experience of working as a Network and/or System Administrator on any open source-based operating system.

Course Contents

The first module of this course will let the candidates know about the installation, configuration, and monitoring process of Nagios. The next module of this training emphasizes the overview of the services provided by Nagios including the plugins for network services and the testing of local sources. Here, the candidates will also learn about how to execute plugins through SSH along with the properties of NRPE (Nagios Remote Plugin Executor). Later, in this module, the curriculum of the training covers the process of fetching information to monitor with SNMP and how to configure the Nagios notification system. The candidate here will learn about how to execute passive tests by using the external commands. This module will also cover the NSCA (Nagios Service Check Acceptor) and the introduction to Distributed Monitoring.

The next module of this course deals with data visualization and the interfaces of Nagios data. This module will help the candidates to explore classical and flexible web interfaces. The next modules of the Nagios System and Network Monitoring and Training course cover how to explore special applications and the development phase of the application.
